Exploring SMALL TOWN Canada at War

The Bunker Military Museum in Cobalt, Ontario, chose Idéeclic as partner for the design and production of the virtual exhibition on the experience of war, seen from the perspective of small Canadian towns. The project is part of the Virtual Museum of Canada Program and great focus was given to respecting accessibility standards.

The exhibition tells two animated stories of witnesses of the First and Second World Wars. Using video clips, the Museum gives life to the stories and proposes rich discovery scenarios.

When listening to the vidéo stories, visitors are invited to identify the objects from the collection that are related to each of the story segments. Visitors can discover more information on the objects and the historical context.

An image gallery is offered to visitors so they can explore the collection according to the themes of the two interactive stories. Also, a section for teachers proposes lesson plans and instructions on how to use the resources in a school context.

The virtual exhibition was launched in June 2016, on the Museum’s website and from the Virtual Museum of Canada portal.
